Mabel Edith Hyde was the daughter of Ewart & Lilla (Jenkins) Garland, born March 25, 1931 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She was named after two of God's servants in his ministry, Mabel Gibson and Edith Hanson. Mabel decided to live for God when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Newberg High School in 1948, a year ahead of her class. She was the secretary of Sherwood High School the fall of that year. She later worked as the head loan officer at Equitable Savings and Loan Company in Portland. She married Mr. Hyde during this time. She had two children. After the kids went to school she worked at Birdseye Cannery in Hillsboro, and later at Tektronix Inc until she retired. She then went to work for the Beaverton School District working in the Cafeteria for a number of years. Mabel was a excellent cook.

Mabel passed away October 12, 2017 at OHSU hospital in Portland, Oregon from heart complications.

She is survived by her husband, a son and daughter, two grandsons and a great grandson, and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewart and Lilla Garland, her brother Ray Garland, baby brother, infant brother, sister Little May Garland, sister Ellen Waldo, brother Don Garland, brother Jim Garland, and sister Wilma Savard, and by her niece Carol Waldo Henderson.

She is survived by 28 dear nephews and nieces & by many dear friends.
