Allan was born April 20, 1926, in Kaufman to Amazon Ralph and Eula Craig Smith. He was a 1947 graduate of Texas A&M University, a Naval Aviator and Retired Lt. Cdr. of the US Navy. Allan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DeKalb.
He was preceded in death by parents and a sister, Jean Smith White in 1988.
He is survived by his wife Floy Kennedy Smith of DeKalb; three nephews, Dan Allan White of Arlington, Tim White of Arlington and Michael White of McKinney; and numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
Graveside memorial services were held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 23, 1015, in the Kaufman Cemetery with Robby Bates officiating. Services were under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in DeKalb.
