He was married to Sarah "Sallie" Jolley (1887–1969).
A farmer living on Caldwell Lane out of Nashville, Charles was 55 years old and married when he died at home on April 21, 1934 of acute dilatation of the heart. Burial was two days later in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
