Margaret E. Fowler, 82, of Vandalia died at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
Funeral services were at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia with the Rev. Bob Hoehn officiating.
Burial was in Vandalia Cemetery, Ralls County.
She was born in Coatsburg, Illinois, the daughter of Samuel E. and Stella May Cunningham DeMoss.
She married Donald L. Fowler, Dec. 20, 1953 in Vandalia.
He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1999.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Eldon DeMoss, Edward DeMoss, Gene DeMoss and Lester DeMoss.
She had lived most of her adult life on the family farm north of Vandalia.
Margaret was a Monroe City High School graduate and attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Hannibal-LaGrange College and the University of Missouri-Columbia.
She taught in Monroe City, Butler Country School and Crow Country School.
She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Vandalia and the 83rd Liberty belles Club.
Margaret helped her husband, Don on the farm along with gardening, canning and growing her flowers.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
