Irene J. Bobeck, 76, of Dallas, passed away Thursday in Kindred Care at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Julia (Duda) Warminski Stefanko. She attended Swoyersville High School. Before retiring, she was employed in the wrapping department at Natona Mills, Dallas. She had been a resident of Dallas most of her life and was a member of Gate of Heaven Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R., in 1991 and a son Charles A. in 1984.
Irene enjoyed her flowers and neighbors, and always had a biscuit for the dogs and lollipops for the kids. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Surviving are daughter Mary Lou Franko, Dalton; grandchildren Richard Dibuo, Lompoc, Calif.; Jennifer Dibuo, North Carolina; Charles Franko, Dalton; Sasha Weaver, Mehoopany; Ricky Franko, Tunkhannock; great-grandchild Julia Franko, Dalton.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Church, with the Rev. Kevin P. Mulhern officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Courtdale.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas, PA 18612.
