Funeral services for Mr. Noble Brown of Winona will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sam Riddell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mississippi State Veterans Cemetery in Kilmichael, with full military honors.
Visitation will be Monday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown, 85, died at his home on Thursday, October 12. He was born in Carrollton on November 6, 1931, to Samuel Edgar and Lorena Garrard Brown. He was retired from the military, having served in the U. S. Marine Corps for 4 years and earning a Purple Heart in Vietnam.
He then enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving an additional 16 years, with several years service overseas. During his time in the Army, Mr. Brown earned several commendations, including a Bronze Star in Vietnam.
Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters, Chris Brown Marsh and her fiance', J. R. Rigdon, of Winona and Fay Brown Gant and her husband, Alan, of Winona; one son, Lance Brown and his wife, Holly, of Winona; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Rodgers Brown; his parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
Pallbearers will be Hank Marsh, Jesi Marsh, Joseph Welch, Jeffrey Welch,Jerome Rigdon, and Terry Brown.
