BAYFIELD - Mrs. Ole (Jennie) Olsen, 75, died Monday at the Memorial Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1901, in Egersund, Norway, and came to Bayfield with her family at the age of four. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Hadland Dyrness.
She was married to Ole Olsen in Ashland on March 15, 1924 Mrs. Olsen was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, and the American Lutheran Church Women, Shamrock Rebekah Lodge, and was a past noble grand of that lodge.
Mrs. Olsen was preceded in death by an infant son; a brother Tony; a sister Dorothy; and an infant sister.
Survivors include her husband Ole; three daughters, Mrs. Warren (Marjorie) Johnson, Ashland; Mrs. Robert (Janet) Stenson, Bayfield; and Mrs. Harold (Roberta) Little, Kenosha; four sisters, Mrs. C. L. (Ellen) Remmen, St. Paul; Mrs. Robert (Gertrude) Nicholai, Delano, Minn.; Mrs. Rasmus, (Joan) Olsen, Bayfield; and Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Olsen, Duluth; 10 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hie Bethesda Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Gornewold officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery.
Friends may call at the Merkel Funeral Home after noon today. A Rebekah service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. tonight.
Memorial remembrances may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Church.
