Arthur Jack George Sr. age 82, lifetime resident of Chicago Heights, passed away Monday, September 29, 2008. He is survived by Angeline nee Rotondi his wife of 63 years; 2 daughters Carol (Frank) Cichorz of Chicago Heights and Gayle (Andrew) Ahrendt of Beecher; 2 sons Arthur Jr. (Cinzia) of Chicago Heights and Dr. Jeffrey (Susan) of Mt. Prospect, brother; Ira George of Pompano Beach; and sister Maureen (James) Briggs of Ocala, Fl. Grandfather of Jennifer, Jill, Jeffrey Jr., Jack and Sarah. Great-grandfather of Haley and Justin.He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Elsie, brothers; Kenneth, Willard, and Roy and his sisters Beatrice Craig, Dorothy Hoffman, Jane Boudreau, and Ruby Lorenzen. Mr. George was a member of the Chicago Heights Fire Dept. for 32 years and retired as chief in 1989. He was a member of the plumbers union Local 130 for 56 years, also the former owner of Carpet Showcase in Chicago Heights. Memorial Services will be planned for a later date.
