Memorial Service for Catherine LeFawn Crawford, 37 of Mandaree, North Dakota will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Pastor Larry Thiele. Urn bearer will be Roberta Doherty. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Catherine’s Family and Friends. Drum Group will be Dakota Nations. Burial will be at 8:00 A.M. at the Ascension Presbyterian Cemetery, Big Coulee. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Catherine LeFawn Crawford was born on May 30, 1980 to Lyle Crawford and Roberta Doherty in Sisseton, SD. She attended school at Tiospa Zina. Later she attended Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College in New Town, ND where she obtained her GED and attended nursing classes. Catherine lived in different areas of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. She worked as a CNA and had her own Catering Business. She was a quilter and made satin quilts which she taught herself. She enjoyed journalist writing, loved and collected music. She loved being a mother and homemaker, and she always included her kids in all activities. Catherine passed away on October 5, 2017 at St. Alexis, Bismarck, ND.

Catherine is survived by her four children, Lyle Water Gwin Jr., IIXHO GA DAA GI WIA Sage Girl Gwin, MAISHUU Gwin and Kaitlyn Pearl Crows Heart all of Mandaree, ND; her mother Roberta Doherty of Sioux Falls, SD; her maternal grandmother, Catherine Frenier of New Effington, SD; one sister, Tamra Redday of Sisseton SD; five brothers, Dana Crawford of Minneapolis, MN, Fred Crawford of New Effington, SD; Chris Blue Jr. of New Effington, SD; Charles Blue of New Effington, SD; Andre Blue of Sioux Falls, SD;.

Catherine was preceded in death by her father, Lyle; paternal grandparents, Edward and Jeanette Crawford Sr.; maternal grandfather, Robert White Sr.; special grandfather Andy Frenier; one sister Cindy.
