Helen E. Washington answered our Heavenly Father’s call on Friday, October 6, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Her life’s journey began on December 23, 1920, the daughter of the late Mabel R. and John F. Washington. She was a devoted member of Grafton Baptist Church Harris Grove and served faithfully on the Church Aide Ministry. Her home is now the mansion that Christ has prepared for her.
She leaves to treasure her blessed memories, her daughter, Mabel V. Washington Jenkins (Keith); her sons, Russell D. Washington, Jr. (Elaine), Carl F. Washington (Denise), Lynwood Y. Washington, Sr. (Gloria), Kriss B. Washington and Burnett A. Washington; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many other loving relatives, church family and caring friends.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, in Grafton Baptist Church Harris Grove with the Rev. Reginald Bagley officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Burial Grounds. Family and friends will assemble at 407 Harrod Lane by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Mrs. Washington may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
