John Wilson Britton was the son of Thomas & Elizabeth "Wilson" Britton, he settled in Giles Co., Tn. abt. 1812. He married Susannah Woods Richey Oct. 4, 1812 in Giles Co., Tn. They had 11 children, their oldest son was Wilson Britton, born Sept. 13, 1813 in Giles Co., Tn. Their second child was Elizabeth Bettie Joines, wife of Joel Joines, who later settled in Jasper, Lawrence, & Iron Counties, in Missouri. Third child was ; Thomas Solomon Britton, born Mar. 16, 1818, he married Margaret Emaline Reagan. Fourth child was Missouri Britton, born June 23, 1820, died July 3, 1900 in Lawrence Co., Missouri. She married Edward Reagan, and had 11 children. George Washington Britton was born June 23, 1822, died 1904 in Newton Co., Missouri. Franklin Cooper Britton was born Sept. 19, 1824, died Aug. 30, 1890 in Waco, Texas. He married Sara Catherine Brown. Alexander Britton was born Sept. 6, 1826, and died Jan. 7, 1888 in Giles Co., Tenn., was buried at Diana/Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Giles Co., Tennessee. Mary Ann Britton was born Oct. 7, 1828, and died Feb. 4, 1897 in Fulton Co., Arkansas. She married Thomas Holland Lee Apr. 13, 1852 in Cornersville, Tennessee. John Seton Britton was born Jan. 29, 1831, and died Aug. 12, 1898 in Waco, McLennan Co., Texas. He married Annie Ruth McBride. James Jefferson Britton was born July 25, 1833, his wife was Catherine. James J., Wilson, and Alexander Britton were the only three brother's who contuined to live in Giles County, Tennessee. Lenora Britton was born Mar. 26, 1838 in Giles Co., Tennessee, and married Thomas Ellis.
