Saturday,May 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel, 500 S. Main Street in Vandalia, Missouri 63382.

Officiating will be: Rev. Bob Balwanz.
Music provided by:
Interment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Vandalia.
Pallbearers: Andy Orf, Bernie Suddarth, Garon Suddarth, Ethan Bent, Leroy Wilkinson and Robert Suddarth.
 
Edward Lee Bent passed away at 7:22 p.m., Tuesday May 22, 2007 at the Silex Community Care Center in Silex, Missouri.
 
Ed was a Frankford High School graduate and served his country in the U. S. Army in Korea prior to hostilities starting there.
 He enjoyed working as a mechanic and truck drive part-time.
Ed retired in 1992 after over 41 year sin the maintenance department at North American Refractories in Farber,Missouri.
He was a member of the Farber Presbyterian Church and a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge #335 in Vandalia.
Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and"mechanicing" for friends.
He had an extensive collection of Allis-Chalmer mowers.
 
Born: September 4, 1924 in Frankford, Missouri the son of George Lee and Dollie Ruth (Foutes) Bent.
 
Married: Myrtle Rebecca Johnson in New London on March 27,1953; she survives at the home.
 
Survivors include: one son, Charles E. and wife, Meg Bent of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two daughters, Rebecca L. Suddarth of Farber and Dinah R. Orf of rural Bowling Green, Missouri; one sister, Nina Peden of Bowling Green; five grandchildren: Bernie and wife, Starra Suddarth of O'Fallon, Missouri; Garon Suddarth of Vandalia; Andy and wife, Jennifer Orf of Louisiana, Missouri; Mackenzie Bent and Ethan Bent both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Orf.
 
Preceded in death by: one daughter, Peggy A. and her husband, Bill Hulse in 1977; one brother who died in infancy; one sister, Mary Sue Gilbert.
