Dwain was very proud of his WWII military record and was an avid outdoorsman. He and his wife Marge had two children Barbara and Richard of whom he was very proud. He was an electrical contractor and retired in 1983. His name is engraved in the WWII Memorial in Washington DC and he is buried in the Nat'l Cemetery in Cave Creek, AZ.
