OKLAHOMA CITY
Buddy Gene Armstrong was born in Eufaula, OK to Bill and Rachel (Cox) Armstrong. The family relocated to Spencer Oklahoma in 1959. He attended Spencer High School where he exceled in football and basketball. Buddy attended Central State University and played on the basketball team. Buddy graduated with Honors and was also recognized for student of the year. He began his coaching career in 1966 at Capitol Hill High School and would go on to win three State Championships throughout his coaching career. Buddy was awarded district 9 coach of the year in 1986. Buddy had a passion for basketball, he was loved by his players, and respected by coaches all over OKC. After his retirement Bud spent his time between his Lake home in Eufaula, where he loved to fish, and his new home in OKC.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Junior and Billy as well as his sister Jewel. He is survived by his sister Evelyn Crowell, OKC and Brothers Charles, OKC and Joe, NC, as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews from all over the US. Buddy had a very special bond with his nephew Stevie who he thought the world of. He also is survived by his beloved dog Gracie.
Visitation will be held on Mon. Oct 9th at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Services 10:00am, Tues. Oct 10th at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
