Barbara Ellen (Cable) Bunthoff, age 71 of Logan, Ohio, died peacefully on September 28, 2017 at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio after an extended illness.

She was born March 10, 1946 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late James Edward Cable, Sr. and Regina Alberta (Schafer) Cable. She grew up in Logan and graduated from Logan High School in 1964. She spent many years caring for her family and raising three children on North Street near the school and St. John’s Catholic Church and later worked as Hocking County’s Emergency Management Director, retiring in 2008 after 15 years of service.

Barbara enjoyed tending her flower gardens and making the space around her more beautiful; crime television and ice cream were two guilty pleasures that brought her joy. She also relished spending time with her family and was an intensely devoted and loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother who derived great joy in gathering loved ones together for meals and holidays. She will be missed by her family, friends, and cheerful furry companion, granddog, Nacho.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, four grandchildren, and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward Cable, Jr.

A visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio, and a Christian Vigil Service followed at 8:00 p.m.
