Lorraine Powers Guidry, 84, passed away July 4, 2017 at 10:51 p.m. She was a native of North West Virginia and a resident of Houma for 60 years.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life beginning Sept. 23, 2017, at Chauvin Funeral Home, with Visitation starting at 1 p.m. A Liturgy of the Word will begin at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sept. 23, 2017, at 2:30 p.m.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Ellen Richey, Karen Billgren and husband, Rickey, Cynthia Daire and husband, Michael, James Guidry and wife, Paige, Arthur Guidry and wife, Mary, and Patricia Warner; brother, Ralph Powers of Buzzard Bay, MA. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her loving husband, Lester James Guidry; parents, Emmett Powers and Lela Miller Powers; three brothers and four sisters.

She was a faithful parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma. She also faithfully played Canasta every Thursday with her friends. Lorraine was a Square Dance Instructor at Lisa Park during their Summer Camp program. She had many other hobbies and past-times; including crocheting, playing cards with her family, square dancing with her husband Lester at their square dancing club. Lorraine was also an avid reader.

She will always be remembered by her family and friends. Lorraine will forever be loved and never forgotten.
