Early Life: He was born May 17, 1926, in Fruita, Colorado, to Wallace and Marian Anderson Bickmore. His early years were spent in Green River, Huntington and Kamas, Utah, graduating from South Summit High School. He immediately joined the United States Navy and served in the Pacific theater.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Upon his discharge, he attended Utah State University, where he received a BS and MS in Education. At USU, he met and married Willa Beth Bird. For a few years, he taught at Wilson School in Logan, Utah. He was employed as a school principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent in many areas of California. He later retired to Utah. He served in many callings in the LDS Church, including Bishop, Counselor, High Councilor, a senior missionary in Jacksonville, Florida, and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and tennis. In later years, preferred to be called Grumps by his grandchildren. Robert Wallace Bickmore passed away peacefully on December 19, 2014. He was 88 years old.
