Flt Sgt Bruce Petersen's aircraft was shot down during a raid over Essen, Germany, and (according to family lore) his body was never found

He was married for less than a year before being posted overseas. His bride, Mrs. Dorothy Bancks (Baines) Petersen, of Toronto Ontario, survived him

Bruce's ancestry was Danish on his father's side, and Barbadian / British on his mother's. His Grandmother Anne (Millard) Petersen is interred at Westbury Cemetery, Bridgetown, Barbados

There are two nieces (USA and Canada) and a nephew (in Canada) who continue the Petersen heritage. 'Brucie' was my Mother's 1st cousin
