Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Rose Jett Mills, 82, of Nutter Fort, WV. died Sunday, October 1, 2017 at United Hospital Center after an extended illness.

Mrs. Mills, born in Nutter Fort, WV; was the daughter of the late Thomas Paul Jet and Allie Cox Jett and the widow of Robert Lee Mills who she married April 16, 1955 and was the last surviving male of the founding Mills family of Nutter Fort. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Harry and William "Bill" Jett; and a sister, Wilma Ruth Jett.

Tough, strong, inquisitive and loyal, she loved the social interaction with many friends, neighbors and passers-by. She had been a member of the DAR, Lucinda Rose VFW Auxiliary, Elks Club, Harrison County Historical Society, and the Women's Club of Clarksburg, WV. She retired from the Harrison County Correctional System after 25 years of service.

As a Democrat, She served on the Harrison County Democratic Executive Committee for more than 25 years. Through her illness, she, was sustained by her faith and support from her niece, Lisa Vincent, cousin, Sandra Seders, friend, Alan Johnson, and special friend, Gloria Mazzei. She had been a member of Vincent Memorial Methodist Church for 70 years.

She is survived by brothers, Larry Jett of Lakewood, CA; David Jett of Clarksburg, WV; and a sister, Betty Moccia of Margate, FL; several nieces and nephews.
