Mr. Franklin was born on May 21, 1948 in Shelbyville, IN.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy (Beal) Franklin; son, Jonathan R. Franklin; daughter, Tammy L. George all of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Tyler Branson of Breaux Bridge, Alexis Williams of Breaux Bridge, Brooke Franklin of Indianapolis, IN and Jonathan L. Franklin of Shelbyville, IN; brother, Thomas J. Franklin of Shelbyville, IN and a great grandson of Indianapolis, IN.
He is preceded in death by his father, Orville L. Franklin, mother, Ruth J. Franklin; sister, Alfreda F. Franklin and a brother, Stephen L. Franklin.
Joe served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He also worked at the Shelbyville Indiana Police Dept., Kroger Food Store and Mickey’s T-Mart.
