George was a self-employed truck driver with over four million safe miles. He also was a Scuba Diving Instructor. He was a member and Clerk at Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Milledgeville. George was preceded in death by his father, Hinton Amos, maternal grandparents, Willie Adams and Ola Ryles Adams and his paternal grandparents, Ed Amos and Christine Askew Amos.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie; mother, Anne Amos; children, Chad Amos, Georgia Michelle (Andy) Simpson, Ricky (Kandi) Shurley and Chris (Christy) Shurley; sisters, Deborah Amos and Lisa Amos. He also has seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Last but not least, his faithful and beloved dog, "Critter," who never left his side.
