A native of Mecklenburg County, VA, the son of the late Walter Otis Yancey and Mary Sue Allgood. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Liggett Myers Tobacco Co. and S&D Machine and Tool.
Memorial services will be conducted Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Eddie Mauldin. Burial will be private.
Surviving are his wife of forty-two years, Gloria “June” Graham Yancey a daughter, Tara Yancey Hansen of Raeford, a son, Ronald Yancey of Johnson City, Tennessee, a brother Dale Yancey and wife Sandra, of Creedmoor and two granddaughters, Morgan and Ashlyn Ramsey of Stovall. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Yancey.
