Morris Ladell Holveck, better known as “Gunny” entered Heaven on Feb. 28, 2016, at the age of 84. Gunny was born Aug. 29, 1931 in Cedar Hill, Texas to Mary Allie Pierce Holveck and Albert Lucian Holveck. He lived all of his life in Texas; Pharr, Florence Hill, Grand Prairie, Midlothian, Cedar Hill and Carrollton. On Sept. 20, 1949, Gunny married the love of his life, Joyce Brumbeloe of Midlothian. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in 2015. He was employed early in life as a ranch manager in Midlothian, then became a truck driver for a brief time. In 1958 he began working for Ford Motor Co. and became a computer operator with their Parts and Sales Division in Carrollton. He retired in 1990, after working there 32 years. His hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting, playing guitars, reading and spending time with family. Gunny’s life revolved around his church, family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and loved them dearly. He was the center and quiet leader of his family and will forever be missed. Gunny was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Norma and brother, Atwell Loyd. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Holveck, children, Janet Holveck, Judi Brown and husband, Alan and Stuart Holveck, grandchildren, Brandon Alan Brown, Randi Cooper and husband, Randy, Weston Brown and Hayden Brown, great-grandchild, Meranda Cooper, sisters, Mildred Wear and Paula Reaves and husband, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Marjorie Holveck
