Life Legacy

Austin Jack Blackner returned home to his Heavenly Father’s loving arms September 26, 2017. Our beautiful curly-haired, blue-eyed boy was born on January 7, 2000 in Provo, Utah. Austin was born way too early at just 25 weeks, weighing only 1 pound and 10 ounces and measuring 12 ½ inches long. Austin spent the first 8 months of his life in the NICU at Utah Valley Hospital fighting to survive. This did not come without some complications and many setbacks, but Austin was a fighter. He possessed strength, perseverance and an ability to overcome incredible odds and challenges. He is our miracle and has blessed our lives in so many ways. He came home to a sister and three brothers who loved and adored him and never hesitated to help with all of his needs. Although Austin’s body had many physical limitations, his spirit and personality were bigger than life and touched anyone who met him. Austin loved to go to school and loved being around the kids especially at music time. He loved to watch basketball and Sponge Bob. He also loved his rocking chair and playing with any kind of strings. We have spent the last seventeen years loving this special little boy who has taught our family so much. Although we will miss him every day, he will forever remain in our hearts.

Austin is survived by his loving parents Angie and Travis Blackner; sister Jacey (Trever) Hunt; brothers Rhett (Shantel) Blackner, Dallon (Brielle) Blackner and Logan Blackner; nieces and nephews Daxton, Hoyt, Brylie, Tanner, Nixxon and Hinklee; grandparents Bill and Pie Garrett and Orson and JoAnn Blackner.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Beaver 3rd Ward (220 N Main, Beaver, Utah). A viewing will be held prior at the church from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Interment will be at the Mt. View Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. www.sumortuary.com.

We would like to thank the many wonderful people who have provided love and support to Austin throughout his life, including the staff at Belknap Elementary and Beaver High School. A special thank you to his aide Sarah Bishop for taking care of and loving Austin for the last 12 years.
