Obituary for El Dean Thurman
Services honoring the life of Francis “El Dean” Thurman will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Eastland Assembly of God. A private family burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Claremore, Oklahoma. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family there to receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
El Dean was born in Flippin, Arkansas on Saturday, September 5, 1936 to John Orland and Lettie (Moore) Beaver. El Dean passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the age of 81.
She married Jack Thurman and their union was blessed with two children. El Dean was a wonderful wife and mother. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. El Dean loved traveling and particularly enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren in Germany.
El Dean worked as a librarian in Claremore and contributed to it’s historical society. She also worked at the family business, Thurman Traveland RV Sales as well as MAPCO and Oral Roberts University. El Dean was a devoted member of Eastland Assembly of God for 50 years. She served as deaconess at Eastland Assembly of God and was heavily involved in many aspects of the church, especially supporting missions. She also helped start the church’s food pantry which has helped countless people in the Tulsa area.
El Dean is survived by,
