On September 13, 1965, Edmon E. Evans, Sr., of 1910 Grinnalds Avenue, beloved husband of the late Cecelia Evans (nee Haslup and father of Edmon E.Jr. and Mrs. Bertha Fehsenfeld. Funeral services in the William Cook-Brooks, inc, Funeral Mansion, St. Paul and Preston Streets on Wednesday at 2:30 pm. Interment in Loudon Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 3 and 6 to 9 pm.

Edmond 'Ed' Earl Evans was born on September 23, 1880, in Edinburg, VA, to Francis Marion and Bertha Virginia Miley Evans. His sister, Olive Myrtle was born on December 21, 1881, in he was 1 year old. His sister, Clara Lee was born on July 25, 1883, when he was 2 years old. His brother, Harrison Morton was born on February 16, 1886, when he was 5 years old. He attended the local schools through the 6th grade and lived with parents and siblings at 338 Main Street, Edinburg, and worked as a bakery clerk at an unknown bakery. He most likely went to Baltimore, MD to get a job with the B&O Railroad where he met his wife to be, Cecelia Hayslup, who he married on April 27, 1904. They had two children during their marriage. His daughter, Bertha Cecelia was born on February 22, 1905 and son, Edmond Earl Jr. was born on November 29, 1907. By 1910, he lived with wife, children and sister-in-law, at 857 Woodward Street, and worked as a car inspector for the B&O Railroad. After the Selective Service Act was signed in May 1917, Edmond registered for the draft in 1918 but never served. At that time he worked as a gang foreman on the B&O at Canden Station Maryland and lived at 710 McHenry Street (address no longer there). He named his wife as the closest person, signed with own hand,described himself as 5'6", Med build, Black hair and eyes, and the end of middle left finger cut off. His father, Francis Marion passed away on September 18, 1927, at the age of 78. By 1928, he lived at 2325 Washington Blvd., and by 1930, he and family lived down the street at 2437 Washington Blvd, while he continued to work for the B&O Railroad. His mother, Bertha Virginia passed away on December 5, 1934, at the age of 83. After working for the railroad, he became the owner of a grocery store. His wife, Cecelia passed away on January 19, 1947, at the age of 62. They had been married 42 years. His brother, Harrison Morton died on March 7, 1960. His sister, Rosa May died on March 10, 1961. He died on September 13, 1965, at the age of 84 and was buried beside his wife in Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore City, MD.
