Omer Lee Cheser Sr, 85, formerly of Louisville, died Friday in Orange, Calif. He was a native of Washington County, a retired employee of Louisville Textile Co. and an Army veteran of World War I.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Laverne Stone of Orange and Mrs. Gerry Provins; two sons, Paul Cheser and Omer "Shorty" Chesser Jr.; two brothers, Roy Elmer and Eugene Chesser; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene, 2203 Dixie Highway, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation at the church will be after 9 a.m. Friday. W. G. Hardy Shively Funeral Home, 4101 Dixie Highway, is in charge of arrangements.
