Sarah Moore Obituary

Sarah "Penny" Moore, age 77, of Ligonier died Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse, Indiana.

Mrs. Moore was born February 1, 1940, in Garrett, Kentucky, to the late Benjamin and Cora (Bolen) Combs. She married Forest Moore on December 28, 1962, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2016.

Sarah was a factory worker and was employed with Starcraft in Topeka, Essex Wire in Ligonier and Westec in Ligonier. She was a member of the New Freedom Baptist Church in LaGrange.

Survivors include a son, Charles David Ritchie of Ligonier; a grandson, Jeremie and Desiree Ritchie, United States Army, stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado; a great-granddaughter, Stella Cruz Ritchie; and sisters Dorothy Combs and Grace Combs, both of Rock Fork, Kentucky.

She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Peggy Combs, Nora Mae Ramey, Anna Faye Hoover, Rose Ann Combs and Nancy Combs; and seven brothers, Cleocus, Spencer, Guilford, Enoch, Jerry, Leo and Maurice Combs.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will also be held Monday, October 2, 2017, after 3 p.m. at New Freedom Baptist Church, 300 Sycamore Street, LaGrange, Indiana.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. at New Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Wade Sturdivant officiating. Burial will follow in Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville.
