Lynda Irene Jackson
1942 – 2017

Lynda Irene Jackson, 75, passed away September 25, 2017. Lynda was born February 19, 1942, in Taft, CA, to Eugene and Hazel Mickey. She grew up in Taft and graduated from Taft High School in 1960. Lynda was married to Bob Jackson on August 3, 1974.

Lynda worked at Contel telephone company as a switchboard operator, Taft Union High school from 1991-2006 as a sign language interpreter, and for Taft College Transition to Independent Living program. Lynda loved helping and taking care of people. She never met a stranger and always talked to everyone. She was kindhearted and loved by all. Lynda always told great stories, was witty and could make just about anyone laugh. Lynda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, writing poems, and gambling!!!!

Lynda is survived by her children, Gerald Meares, Jodi Jackson and her husband Bill Wood, Jason Jackson, Julie Clem and her husband Mike Lans. Lynda’s eight grandchildren, Brandon Wood and wife Jill, Derek Bailey, Dakota Bailey and wife Stephanie, Kassandra Jackson, Madison Clem, Payton Clem, Taylor Clem, and Cody Lans. Lynda’s three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Wood, Victoria Wood, and Patrick Bailey. Lynda’s siblings, Donald and his wife Kathie Mickey, and Gloria and her husband Bill Nichols. Lynda’s nieces and nephews, Jeff Mickey and wife Jackie, Amanda and her husband Larry Bluemel, Jennifer and her husband Rob Robertson, Caleb Mickey and his wife Terina, Mark Nichols and his wife PJ, and Aimee Nichols and her fiancé John Beck. Lynda has several great-nieces and -nephews and too many friends to count.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Eugene Mickey, and her husband, Bob Jackson.

Graveside services will be held at West Side District Cemetery in Taft. We all love and will miss Lynda, but it’s not good-bye, it’s until we meet again.
