Paul O. Goble, 65, Morristown, died Wednesday, August 2, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 14, 1934, in Freeport, he was the son of William and Erna (Balting) Goble. He married Eliza Keaton on June 28, 1958, and she survives.

Mr. Goble was a renovation foreman for St. Francis Hospital and Health Services, Beech Grove, for 31 years. He was the head track coach for Morristown High School since 1985 and head coach of the school's boys' and girls' cross coutry teams since 1987. He was a 1952 graduate of Morristown High School.

He was a member of the former Runners Forum, Indianapolis, and the corporate running team for St. Francis Hospital. He received the Morristown Lions Club Citizen of the Year Award for 1995-1996.

He was a member of the Morristown American Legion Post 102 and attended Fountaintown United Methodist Church. He had served in the U.S. Army.

Other survivors include one son, Bill Goble, Indianapolis; two daughters, Paula J. Goble and Elaine M. Goble Carlton, both of Morristown; two sisters, Mary Alice Lenning and Dorothy E. Simpson, both of Morristown; and one grandson.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morristown High School gymnasium, with Rev. Darrel Crouter officiating.

Burial was in Hanover Cemetery, Morristown.

Friends visited from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Erlewein Mortuary, Greenfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Morristown track and cross country teams in care of Morristown High School Athletic Department.
