Christine Alford Alexander, 92, of Enon, passed away, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at McComb Nursing and Rehab.
She was born July 6, 1925 in Salem, MS. She was the daughter of Samuel and Hattie Magee Alford.
She was co-owner and operator of Alexander’s Grocery for many years. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grady D. Alexander, Sr.; three grandsons, Christopher Acker, Lynn Beard and Steven Statham; five brothers, Vernon, Farrell, Emmitt “Hamp”, Harold and Sammie Alford and two sisters, Louise Alford Bacot and Hylan Alford Magee.
She is survived by her two sons, Grady D. Alexander, Jr. and wife, Shirley and Brian Alexander and wife, Tammy of Enon; three daughters, Ann Acker and Evelyn Sanford of Brandon and Debbie Alexander and life partner, Evelyn McKeithen of Florence; twelve grandchildren, Belinda Fife Alexander, Jeffrey Alexander, Ty Alexander, Melissa Sanford, Warren Acker, Ryan Acker, Abel Alexander, Aden Alexander, Anna Leigh Alexander, Earnie Beard, Tricia Thompson and Scott Beard ; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 10AM Monday, September 25, 2017 at Enon cemetery with Bro. Philip Alford officiating.
Pallbearers are Jeff Alexander, Warren Acker, Ryan Acker, Matthew Fife, Vaughn Mims and Evelyn McKeithen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
