Margie May DeLange, 90, of Brazilton, Kansas, died at 5:53 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the West Ridge Retirement Community in Girard.
Margie was born December 18, 1926 in McCune, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Jessie (Glen) Michael. She grew up in McCune and graduated from McCune High School. Margie graduated from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Pittsburg, Kansas and she worked in the Girard Hospital for over 43 years before retiring in 2000.
Margie married Donald E. DeLange on November 19, 1950 in the United Methodist Church at Girard. He survives of the home.
Margie was an accomplished seamstress and she enjoyed sewing, tatting, and embroidery. She was a member and also a past Kansas Board member of home extension units and a past precinct committeewoman for the election board.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Donald, of the home, are her sons, Mike DeLange of Hepler, Kansas and Pat DeLange, and his wife, Nancy, of Brazilton; her daughters Janice Han, and her husband, David, of McCune and Denise Butler, and her husband, Tom, of Lansing, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Marrion DeLange, on August 3, 2017; a granddaughter, Michell DeLange, on February 8, 1985; a grandson, Kolter DeLange, on March 31, 2013; her brothers, Dee Michael, Gordon Michael, Keith Michael.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Dallas Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 2:00 p.m., Tuesday.
