Old Mr. Pepper, father of J. C. and W. J. Pepper, died at Aledo, Saturday in the 90th year of his age. Mr. Pepper was born in England.

Charles A. Pepper, a resident of Mercer county for thirty years, died recently at Aledo of old age, being in his 90th year, at the residence of his son, John C., President of the Illinois State Temperance Alliance, with whom he has long made his home. He was born in England, and was for some time connected with the marine service. He came to this county in 1835, settling first in New York, where some of his children yet reside.
