Obituary in The Shreveport Times June 3, 2007:

SHREVEPORT, LA- Graveside services for Mrs. Elaine Burt Thompson, 72 of Shrevveport, LA will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2007 in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Larry Bass Chaplain for St. Joseph Hospice.

Mrs. Thompson was born November 13, 1934 in Jackson, LA and passed away in Shreveport on June 2, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She has been a resident of this area since 1959. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of fifty-four years Phillip Thompson; daughters, Phyllis Miller and Melinda Slocum; son Walter Thompson and wife Rebecca; grandchildren Rhonda Sandifer and John Broccato; great-grandchildren, Christa Woodward, Miranda Sandifer and Felicia Whitt.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice and the American Nursing Home Health Association. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice.
