WHITESBORO - Arthur G. Barnes, 82, of Sickler’s Mobile Home Park, died April 23, 1985 at his home.
He was born January 4, 1903 in New York Mills, the son of Christopher W. and Della H. Corsette Barnes. He received his education in New York Mills schools and R.P.I. Mr. Barnes married Ruth Kilgress, July 2S, 1936. He was employed as a Tool Engineer at Savage Arms and was Supervisor of Process Engineering at Bendix Corp. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and the Rensselaer Society of Engineers.
Besides his wife, be is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Ann and William Apel of Whitesboro; four grandchildren, Janet Apel and James Apel, both of Utica, Jeffrey Apel of Whitesboro and Susan Van Hoven and two great-grandchildren, David and Brian Van Hoven, all of Rochester; one niece, Joan Ehlinger and a nephew, Ronald Adsit, both of Whitesboro.
The funeral will be Thursday morning at 9.30 at the J.W. Dimbleby Funeral Home and at 10 o'clock at St Paul's Church. Interment will be In Mt Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 3-4 and 7-9.
