Mrs. Gousset was born in Natchez on July 17, 1948, the daughter of Ellis Butler and Elgie Metcalfe Butler Waller. She was the loving wife of George J. Gousset and only sister, Betty Lee Lewis, and husband Buddy Lewis. She had one nephew, Jimmy McManus, of Natchez and wife Rhonda. She brought life to all of us in a glorious way. She was a born again Christian and loved and served her Lord and Saviour.

Helen was a strong and loving lady. She was adventurous and had an inquiring mind. She served at some of the antebellum homes during Natchez pilgrimage and loved the history behind Natchez and her family, as well as, her husband's family.

She helped so many people in so many ways during her lifetime. Her. smile was absolutely infectious. Her friends were many and she loved every one of them.

She grew up in Amite County and graduated from Gloster High School!! She attended Colin College while working there!

Helen was preceded in death by husband, Charlie Womack, and two children, Tracey Womack, 6yrs old and Katie Womack, 3yrs old, her Mother, Elgie Butler Waller, her father Ellis Butler and two nieces, Sandy and Candy McManus, as well as both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Published online by Laird Funeral Home, Natchez, Mississippi.Bio to come. See links to my mother and daddy, and of course, my children, Tracey and Katie were my life's treasure, and my husband Charlie Womack, Jr. With God's help and by carrying me, he got me through the loss of them, as I prayed each day I wouldn't wake up, but I kept waking up and life kept going on. I heard "One day at a Time" constantly in my mind for the longest time.

I married George (Joe) Gousset on 12/1/84, and we celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2014, and my only immediate family is one sister, Betty Grace Lee Lewis, and one nephew, James (Jimmy) McManus and his wife, Rhonda.
