YORK Howard G. "Buck" Wampler, 87, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Manor Care South. He was the husband of Betty E. (Swartz) Wampler, his wife of 62 years, who died January 16, 2007. A viewing will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral service, at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Mr. Wampler was born October 5, 1919, in Maryland Line, Md., a son of the late William and Lillie May Wampler. He had been employed at Pensupreme Dairies. Mr. Wampler is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Downs of York. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Bailey; and two brothers, George Wampler and Elmer "Pete" Wampler.
