David L. Colpetzer December 23, 1949 September 15, 2017 David L. Colpetzer, 67, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on December 23, 1949, in Howard, PA, he was the son of the late Paul Colpetzer and Margaret (Meek) Rockey. David was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam as a field medic and orthotic specialist, for his services he received the Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Marksman Qualification Badge, and Army Service Ribbon. David retired from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority as a driver. He is survived by two daughters; Karin Colpetzer (Jamie) of Bellefonte, Mitzi Miller (John) of Jersey Shore, four grandchildren; Caden Bathurst, Morgan Colpetzer, Elle and Sophia Miller and one great-grandchild, Loreili Colpetzer. Also surviving are two sisters; Dorothy "Dot", Joni, and two brothers; Paul and Timothy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ava Bathurst. David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. His passion was his muscle cars. Dad, you have to know that without you in our life anymore our hearts will never be the same, as you take a piece of all of us with you. Rest easy brave solider, our forever hero. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. David will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
