GRANT Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Frank Dewees, with Rev. Ernest McAninch in charge. Lester, Clarence and Cecil Weaver sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Earl Spiker. The pall bearers were Harold Stinemates, D. J. Chalmers, J. F. Mueller, Earl Courcier, H. A. Workman, and Lester Smith. Mrs. Blossom Wahlund of Omaha, Mrs. Oscar Zapper, and Miss Cora Greenfield had charge of the flowers. Burial was in the Quincy Cemetery.
Mr. Dewees was born May 22, 1877 at Green Valley, Washington County, Iowa. Mr. Dewees died at his home here on January 7, after a serval weeks illness. He was married in 1912 to Miss Lillian Durkett of Fontanelle and in the same year they came to Grant where Mr. Dewees took charge of the mill and has had charge since. His life work was at the mill, operating the Grant Mill 28 years. He is survived by his wife, and one daughter, Mrs. Milton Baldwin of Red Oak and a grandson, Richard Baldwin; also two sisters, Mrs. C. A. Miller of Thedford, Nebraska and Mrs. Charles Jarvis of Grant.
