The body of Mrs. Amelia Bassett, a former Keithsburg resident, was brought here Friday morning for burial in Greenmound cemetery. Mrs. Bassett died Tuesday at the home of her son, Warren C. Bassett, in New York City. Born in Keithsburg, Nov. 16, 1871, she was a daughter of Carl and Mary Gottschalk. She was educated in the Keithsburg schools and was married here Nov. 20, 1889, to William C. Bassett. They moved to Rock Island in 1917, where they resided until 1925, when they went to New York City where Bassett died in 1927. Surviving besides the son are a daughter, Mrs. Harriet Welch of Rock Island.
