She was born June 23, 1944 in Meade, Kansas to Hildred Oscar and Katherine Virginia (Klotz) Borchers. As a young girl she attended the Meade school system and later received her nurses training in Enid, Oklahoma in 1965. After her schooling, she began her career as a Registered Nurse, working for the Meade District Hospital, Dr. Hill, Home Health and Lone Tree Retirement Center, retiring as Director of Nursing in 2012. Clauda was a devote Christian and a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meade Kansas, LWML and Thrivent.
On November 6, 1966, she married Martin J. “Marty” Tacha in Meade, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents Hildred and Katherine Borchers, her husband, Martin “Marty” Tacha and daughter Debbie Rhinehart .
Clauda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, baking, camping, fishing and taking care of others. Clauda’s compassion had a resounding effect on her family, friends and the community.
She is survived by a son, Lester Tacha and wife Crista of Meade; four daughters, Ginger Rupp of Dodge City, Kansas, Doreen Kinderknecht of Ellis, Kansas, Tishsa Strickler and husband Matt of Eureka, Kansas, and Charlee Webb and husband Michael of Iwakuni, Japan; two brothers, Gary Borchers and wife Carol of Sun City, Arizona, and Dennis Borchers and wife Barbara of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; Justin (Angie) Helus, Savannah Rupp, Laci (Trevis) Vanderpool, Amber Rhinehart, Kerri Eback, Ted Rhinehart, Travis Rueter, Brock (Malesa) Springer, Marissa (Joe) Day, Tyler Strickler, Noah Neel, Cole Strickler, Addison Tacha, Ava Tacha, and Ryan Webb and six great-grandchildren; Elsie and Vera Helus, Oliver Rueter, Adleigh Ray, Jad Day and Aubree Vanderpool.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church, Meade, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will take place at the Stone Schoolhouse Cemetery, rural Meade, at a later time.
The family would welcome memorials to the St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Lone Tree Retirement Center in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
