Joseph R. Weldon, 74 Springdale, died Sept 1 at his home. Born October 18, 1903 at Duncannon, Pa, he was the son of Joseph C. and Jennie Kennedy Weldon. He was a retired painter and moved to the area in 1963 from Tulsa, Okla. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Axtell Weldon of the home to whom he was married November 26, 1932 at Huntsville; five sons, Joseph E. Weldon of Richland, Wash, Charles W. Weldon of Lowell, Lee A. Weldon and Tommy R. Weldon of Fayetteville, and Larry Weldon of Springdale; six daughters, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Woodley of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Jennie Price of Wagoner, Okla, Mrs. Bob (Doris) Klyne of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Frank (June) Whinnery of Lowell, Mrs. Lyle (Mary) Howarth and Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Smiley of Springdale; three brothers, Charley Weldon, Fred Weldon and Bill Weldon of Tulsa, Okla; two sisters, Mrs. Tom Scott of Dennard and Mrs. Bill Hummelgarn of Calif; 33 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville. Arrangements were under the direction of Sisco Chapel.
