Frederick Allen Baker, 68, of Marietta, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at his home.

He was born on January 19, 1949 in Marietta, to Howard A. and Florence I. Wright Baker.

Fred was a 1967 graduate of Marietta High School. He retired from Eramet after 35 years of employment. Fred was a member of the Marietta Moose Lodge and the Marietta Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and especially traveling, and loved NASCAR, the Buckeyes and the Browns.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Dawe Baker, whom he married on May 28, 1999; daughter, Tammy Bunting (Jeffrey) of Waverly, WV; granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Bunting of Waverly; brother, Louis Baker (Doishia) of Belpre, Ohio; sister, Fran Stephens (Mike) of Marietta; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Barbara Richards Baker.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Alvarez officiating.

Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
