Decatur, Dec 7 - George M Robinson, Editor of Warrensburg Enterprise, died today. Editor Robinson is the man who fasted for nearly forty days for the hoped for cure of a chronic trouble. He persistently refused to partake of any nourishment whatever, and many believe he died of voluntary starvation. A daughter of Robinson for months has been doing for days without food, eating only when she has a great craving and then very sparingly.

G M Robinson, the well-known editor of the Enterprise at Warrensburg, who for some weeks past has been a subject of considerable solicitude, not only among his friends in the village in which he lived, but also among a great many people throughout the state who had read in the newspapers of his low condition, died at 4:10 o'clock Thursday morning at his home in Warrensburg, aged 42 years.

He had been sick for two months or more, his illness being due primarily to a chronic trouble. He leaves a wife and four children. The body will be taken to Versailles, Brown County, IL for interment.

Mr Robinson was well known in this city and in the community in which he lived, was an exemplary citizen and much of a student. He became interested in what is known as the Dewey system of dieting from reading a number of books sent out by the author, Dr Dewey of Meadville, PA. At the time, the system first came under his observation, which was over a year ago, C C H Cowan was associated with him in the publication of the Enterprise.

The Dewey System, it should be understood, is the "no breakfast plan" the plan of doing without food until a strong appetite comes and then "take only a little." Mr Cowan first fasted for a period of forty days greatly reducing his flesh and he contended that he was greatly benefited in health. Mr Robinson, over a month ago, continuing in bad health on account of his chronic afflictions and by the advice of those who approve the Dewey System, concluded that he would try the experiment of getting along without food. For over thirty days, he had fasted, and notwithstanding the fact that he was daily growing weaker and manifestly needed nourishment, he refused to eat anything, with the result that he became so low that he could not rally.

Dr W C Wood of this city and Dr A Melton of Warrensburg held a post mortem examination yesterday. They found Mr Robinson had suffered fro general sepsis and necrosis of the gall bladder.
