Early Life: She was born October 28, 1943, in Murray, Utah, to Ralph Sylvan and Dorothy Ann Witherell Dunn. She graduated from Jordan High School and was a member of the Charlonian Drill Team.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Carolyn went on to attend Brigham Young University where she majored in Elementary Education and was a member of the Angel Flight Drill Team. She married the love of her life, Grant Lowell Gibb, on June 24, 1966, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She met Grant through mutual friends at the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake City, where she and her friends went dancing on weekends. Carolyn and Grant just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this year. After graduating from BYU, she taught school for 30 years in the Nebo School District. She loved to sing and was a member of the Mapleton Chorale directed by Ryan Murphy. Carolyn especially enjoyed playing golf with her husband, Grant, and meeting new friends while golfing at different courses throughout Utah. Carolyn loved to laugh and was always trying to be positive. She fought so hard to the very end as she set an example of how to live and die with faith and dignity. Her family and friends prayed for a miracle and the miracle for Carolyn was that she passed away peacefully with no more pain and suffering. Carolyn May Dunn Gibb, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away September 8, 2017.
Survived By: Her dear husband, Grant; her son, David (Amy); her daughter, Jolynn Gibb Carter; six wonderful grandchildren: McCall Gibb McCombie, Sydney, Connor, Jadyn and Ryker Gibb and Jaxson Carter, all of whom she dearly loved.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents; sisters: Margaret Dunn and Barbara Tueller; and baby brother, Robert.
