James married Martha Pittman in Fannin County , G.A. on March 25, 1899 making her his second wife and mother of Clinton , Clayton, and Claude who died in October 1910 from eating toxic Poke Berries.

The third wife of James W Farmer. According to the U S 1910 Census they had been married only 2 years and she had given birth to 1 child but had 0 living, so she would have been All of James children's step mother. Margaret never remarried.
