Helen Maxine Combs, 82, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born March 21, 1935, in Nelson, MO, she was the daughter of the late James Clarence Huff and Gertrude Mae Ford Huff. In 1953, she married Edward Franklin Doud who preceded her in death in 1964. She then married James Combs who also preceded her in death. She lived in Saline County her entire life and worked as a nurse’s aide at Saline County Rest Home. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis Plains, Helen Bueker, Vicki Surber and Wanda Money all of Marshall; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Janice Arth of Marshall, Mary Riley of Springfield, MO, Kathy Derboven of Moberly, MO and Joyce Sitzes of Marshall; one brother, Charles Huff of Higbee, Mo; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Earl Edward Doud; one grandson, Randy Apel; and four brothers, LeRoy, Bobby, Bill and Donald Huff.
