Deloy Ann Keeler-Barkwell

Nov. 17, 1941 - Nov. 1, 2013

A celebration of life will be held for Deloy Ann Keeler, 71, of Myrtle Point at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Masonic Temple in Myrtle Point.

Deloy was born Nov. 17, 1941, to Oran and Ernestine Keeler in Myrtle Point. She attended grade school in both Sitkum and Illahe while living at her family’s hunting and fishing lodge in Illahe where she loved to ride her horse Mickey and spend time with her cousins along the wild and scenic Rogue River. She attended school in Myrtle Point for a few years before graduating from Coquille High School in 1960.

In 1956, while pumping gas at her father’s Union 76 service station, Deloy met the love of her life Bruce Barkwell. Their paths crossed again over 10 years later and they married June 21, 1968.

Deloy held jobs at KWRO in Coquille, KOOS in Coos Bay and the city of Coquille Water Department.

Deloy and Bruce laughed and loved together for more than 45 years before Deloy passed away Nov. 1, 2013.

Deloy is survived by her devoted husband, Bruce; two daughters, Billie Grant of Beaverton and Patti McGuire of Medford; two granddaughters, Donna Grant and Ashley McGuire; two cousins, Marian Smith and Ernie Rutledge; and five nieces and nephews.
