9 Mar 2007: Michael Don Brandt, 48, died as a result of an accidental fall at his home in Durango, CO, Sunday, March 4, 2007. He was born on July 30, 1958, in Lebanon to Donald Nathan and Janet E. Miller Brandt. He is survived by his father Donald Nathan Brandt and his stepmother Gwen Brandt of Palmyra. His mother Janet Miller Brandt preceded him in death. He grew up and graduated from Palmyra High School Class of 1976. He enlisted in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne and was a helicopter crew chief. After serving in the military he worked in auto paint and body repair owning his own business. Mike's love for the outdoor life brought him to Colorado in 1987. He was an avid motorcycling enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and outdoor sports with special talents in custom auto design and fabrication, foods and cooking. He is survived by his sisters and brother Barbara A. Kreider of Annville, Crystal J. Brandt and David J. Brandt, both of Palmyra; two nieces and four nephews; maternal aunt Grace Miller and maternal uncle Larry Miller; stepbrothers Eric Piper, Bayfield, CO, Patrick and Michael Ingalls, York, and Bob Ingalls of Hershey; stepsisters Cathy Douts of Washington Boro, PA, Carolyn Wood, Grasonville, MD, Mary Lochtie, Seattle, WA, and Peggy Rhine, Lebanon, PA; numerous step-nieces and nephews; and cousins. Funeral Tuesday, March 13, at Rothermel Funeral Home Inc., Palmyra. Burial in Mount Annville Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News]
