Robert Bunch, loving husband, dad and pa, departed this life Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Robert was born on May 3, 1953 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of Ben Bunch, Sr. and Viola (Young) Brown.

In 1974 Robert married his best friend and love of his life Rita Pruitt at the Indian Methodist Church in Stilwell. They have two children, Melanie and Nate. Robert is survived by his wife of 46 years, their daughter Melanie Hitcher and husband Wilson Leon, their son Nathan Bunch and wife Stephanie. Robert and Rita have six grandchildren, Meisha Muskrat and husband Steven, Rylan Bunch, Chelsea Bunch, Daythan Hitcher, Asher Bunch and Keller Hitcher and two great-grandchildren, Alexa Muskrat and Ryker Muskrat. He is survived by two sisters, Frances Longshore and husband Bobby and Gina Barnowski and husband Jim, one brother, Ronnie Bunch all of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Robert is survived by a loving extended family that includes all of his in-laws, David and Sandy Pruitt, Diane England, George (Foof) Fourkiller, Jack and Diana Fourkiller, Clara and Mark Bighorse, Michelle and Norman Kee, Will and Kerrie Fourkiller, Melissa and Thad Turman, lots of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Robert was like a dad to many young people and called Pa Robert by most of his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Bunch Sr., mother, Viola Young Brown, brothers, Ben Bunch, Jr., Benny Ray Bunch, and sisters, Karen Soap, Nancy Reynaga and mother-in-law, Edith Shell Fourkiller.

Robert was educated in the Peavine, Greasy and Stilwell Public Schools. He graduated from Okmulgee State Tech in 1973 and later attended Northeastern State University. Upon graduation from Okmulgee State Tech, Robert was employed by the Seminole Producer in Seminole, Oklahoma as a lithographer printer in the dark room. When he, his wife and children moved back to Stilwell, he worked briefly for Cherokee Nation and then at BrandRex in Siloam Springs, Arkansas until it closed. Over the next several years, he was employed by Stilwell Schools, Watts Schools and retired in 2004 from Peavine School where he worked in custodial maintenance.

Robert and his family were active in church and community service throughout his lifetime. He was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church in the Peavine Community where he and his family resided. He served in different capacities over the years and he really enjoyed singing songs about his savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Robert loved his church family and being a part of their lives. He loved to host and cook for special family, church and community events. One of his specialties was to do a hog fry.

Robert dedicated his life to God, family and friends. All who knew him will miss him. Everyone will remember his infectious smile, laughter and good humor. He loved all of you with a passion. He is fully recovered and living in his forever home.
